Job Description
What Your Day Will Look Like:
As a staff accountant youll be responsible for a multitude of accounting activities included but not limited to journal entries reconciliations the month end close process and audit preparation. Youll reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities by collecting and analyzing account information. The staff accountant reports to the senior accounting manager.
What Youll Do:
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Prepare journal entries to support the month end close.
- Support various audit activities (external internal and FAR).
- Perform accounting functions as assigned to include A/P A/R Fixed Assets and Tax Filings.
- Analyze financial reports and records.
- Ensure that all deliverables comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Contribute to other department and organization special projects as assigned.
What Youll Need:
- Bachelors degree in accounting finance or a related discipline.
- 3 years experience in accounting or finance.
- CPA or pursuit of CPA preferred.
- Experience with Vision Vantagepoint or other Deltek products preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel with ability to create formula driven spreadsheets familiarity with pivot table vlookup xlookup and other summarizing tools is a plus.
- This office job primarily operates in a professional office and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers phones and copy machines. May occasionally be exposed to noise. While performing the duties of this job physical demands of the employee may include constantly sitting talking hearing repetitive motions and occasional standing moving reaching handling grasping feeling and coordination. This job will rarely require lifting carrying pushing and pulling up to 35 lbs.
