Pallet Runner

Position Summary:

The responsibility of the Pullaway is to shuttle pallets of product to specified areas of the warehouse and assists with the receiving tagging and lumping of product prior to its final destination.

Shift:

• Monday to Friday 7am 3pm

• Tuesday to Saturday 7am 3pm

Specific Responsibilities and Functions:

• Inspection of tracker at the beginning of each shift.

• Operation of an end/mid rider truck safely and efficiently.

• Prepare customer orders for shipments by shrink wrapping for safety.

• Pulling pallets down aisles to be placed in designated areas in all three temperature zones (grocery cooler and freezer). Clean work areas before completing each shift.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively including coverage for team members when absent or on vacation.

• Able to be trained to operate other powered equipment safely.

• Other duties assigned as required.

Working Conditions:

• Exposure to three 3 different temperature zones within the warehouse.

• Grocery area in the warehouse is room temperature; varies from cold in the winter and warm in the summer.

• Cooler area in the warehouse is approximately 1 or 2 degrees C.

• Freezer area in the warehouse is approximately 15 degrees C. Some areas of the freezer can get as low as 23 degrees C.

• Moderate noise level

• There are approximately 60 employees working per shift.

• CSA approved steeltoe safety boots must be worn on the warehouse floor. Employees are reimbursed $100 per year towards safety boots with proof of purchase after 90 days of employment.

Additional Details:

• Employees are hired on a fulltime basis. However given the nature of the position an employees hours of work will be irregular. Your hours of work may be scheduled on any day of the week (Monday through Sunday) with varying shifts.

• During peak seasons scheduled overtime is required and may include up to 13 hour shifts.

• There is a 30minute paid lunch for an 8hour shift and 40minute paid lunch for a 10hour shift.

• GFS Delivers every day of the year as we are a 24/7 operation. Employees must be flexible to work all Statutory Holidays however this does not necessarily mean that employees will be required to work all of them.
