Job Description
SUMMARY
75100 travel to various North Shore Physician Group sites.
North Shore Physicians Group a multispecialty medical practice affiliated with North Shore Medical Center and Partners Health Care is hiring Float Medical Assistants (MAs) to participate in our Primary Care Redesign initiative. We are seeking highly motivated individuals who think creatively on their feet and can actively participate in the care of our patients As a float MA the employee is entitled to mileage reimbursement for travel between our various sites located within a 10 mile radius of the NSMC campuses. The prospective employee must consent to fulltime float status for the duration of the clinical redesign project approximately 1 year. Following successful completion of our clinical and patientcare initiatives the individual will assume fulltime employment at one of our many practice sites.
The candidate must be a graduate of a formal educational program in Medical Assisting. He/she must have a minimum of 3 years experience as a medical assistant with emphasis on evaluation management and treatment of patients during a physician visit. Active certification by a recognized accrediting organization is preferred. The prospective employee must be proficient in obtaining and recording vitals administering injections performing phlebotomy and understanding medications and prescriptions. He/she must be a highly motivated individual who possesses excellent clinical and customer service skills and thrives in a fastpaced clinical environment. Additionally the prospective employee must maintain cooperative working relationships with staff and physicians while proactively demonstrating flexibility and excellent problem solving skills resulting in high performance standards ensuring quality patient care.

- Clinical skills include but are not limited to:
- Applies the principles of aseptic/sterile technique and infection control at all times.
- Performs sterilization of medical equipment
- Complies with all quality control programs
- Educates the patient within the scope of practice and as directed by supervising provider in health maintenance disease prevention disease management and compliance with the patients treatment plan
- Helps the provider and patient identify community resources for health maintenance and disease prevention
- Assists provider and other office staff in population management using available tools Strong organizational skills
EXPERIENCE
- Required 1 year of experience after intern/externship in a related physicians office setting.
- Required 3 years experience in a related physicians office setting.
EDUCATION
- Completion of a formal program in Medical Assisting OR Matriculation in or graduate of an Associates or Bachelors degree program in nursing (RN).
- Nursing students must have completed fundamentals of nursing skills lab and at least one clinical rotation in medical / surgical nursing.
