Summary

The Foundations Officer (FO) will play an integral role in helping the development office meet its annual fundraising goal by identifying cultivating soliciting and stewarding private public family and corporate foundations. The FO will build relationships with researchers and clinicians to understand their programs and needs and work to identify and match funding opportunities with potential funders. The FO is expected to have excellent writing skills and will play lead role in proposal development writing and production and support other Development Office writing projects as needed.

The Foundations Officer reporting to the Director of Corporate and Foundation Giving will raise grant funds to support the Spaulding Rehabilitation Network and Partners HealthCare at Home otherwise known as Partners Continuing Care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage portfolio of active foundation funders and knowledge base of foundation prospects. Develop and sustain relationships with foundation program officers.
  • With family foundations serve as liaison/resource working to develop proposals and reports in conjunction with major gift officers.
  • Assist PCC clinical and research staff in concept development prospect identification proposal writing and submission and grant reports.
  • Work closely with Director Corporate and Foundation Giving to identify candidates for funding and assess candidate/funder fit.
  • Maintain Raisers Edge prospect data to identify foundation interests that align with SRNs rehabilitation medicine research and education focus and track all proposals filing and report deadlines and grant conditions.
  • Meet with foundation representatives to cultivate relationships discuss funding options hold briefings and solicit support.
  • Create letters of inquiry concept papers and proposals; write stewardship reports and acknowledgment letters for foundation funders.

  • Represent PCC on the Partners Foundations Council by attending quarterly meetings and sharing best practice
  • Participate in Development Special Events as well as cultivation and stewardship events as appropriate (occasionally on weekends or evenings).
