HigherStrats is assisting an local client to find Estimator/Designers.
Summary:
The Estimator/Designer is responsible for analyzing project documentation and producing accurate project cost estimates for landscaping projects. This role ensures that estimates are detailed and completed in a timely manner providing excellent customer experience while helping the company achieve its sales and project goals. The Estimator/Designer will work closely with the sales production and design teams to ensure smooth project and meet customer expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are the key duties and responsibilities of the Estimator/Designer:
- SelfMotivation: Maintain high levels of motivation and initiative to achieve individual and company goals.
- Vendor Communication: Contact vendors for material pricing and availability to ensure accurate bids are met on time.
- Team Collaboration: Work as part of a team with other estimators designers and department managers to support a profitable and efficient workflow.
- Microsoft and Software Proficiency: Use Microsoft programs and company software to develop estimates and track project data.
- Professional Communication: Communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers departments and divisions to keep estimates accurate and ensure smooth project workflow.
- Labor and Material Analysis: Analyze labor materials and manhours required for each project factoring in these costs for accurate estimates.
- Estimate Creation: Develop and produce detailed accurate estimates based on client plans blueprints and other documentation ensuring they align with customer expectations.
- Proposal Preparation: Work with service advisors to prepare final proposals including all relevant details pricing and timelines.
- Tracking & Documentation: Maintain accurate tracking of costs materials labor and equipment for each project. Ensure all project details are documented clearly.
- Project FollowUp: Follow up on project results with the team ensuring the estimates align with the final project costs and outcome.
- Collaboration with Production: Work closely with the production manager and administrator to ensure each project is successful for the production team and stays on schedule.
- Daily Updates: Complete and maintain daily estimator update forms to keep the team informed of project progress and any issues.
Commission:
- Commission Rate: 1 paid on project completion within budgeted estimated goals.

Education and Experience:
- Education: Bachelors degree in engineering construction management landscape architecture or a related field.
- Experience: 23 years of experience working in the landscaping construction or related field particularly in estimating or design roles.
