Automation Specialist Calgary AB
Our client a respected consulting firm located in Calgary offering expertise in Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) for upstream and midstream oil and gas facilities across Western Canada is seeking an experienced Automation Specialist to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in both office and field environments supporting complex controls and automation projects from start to finish.

What Youll Do:
- Programming & Engineering: Work on PLC DCS and HMI systems including control narratives SCADA and equipment selection.
- Documentation: Create and maintain controls documentation including testing reports and technical documentation.
- Field Support: Travel to client locations (approximately 30 travel) for system installation testing and troubleshooting.
- Client Interaction: Work closely with clients and vendors to ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements
What You Bring:
- Experience: 6 years in automation with expertise in PLC (Rockwell/Schneider) DCS (DeltaV/Rockwell PlantPAX) and SCADA/HMI (Inductive Ignition).
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of control systems industrial processes and electrical systems.
- Certifications: Additional certifications in cybersecurity networking or functional safety are a plus.
- Field Expertise: Handson experience with commissioning and maintaining power systems control equipment or automation software.
