About Butterworth Hospital
Right in the heart of Grand Rapids youll find a nationally recognized hospital for patient quality and safety and the regional leader in fullservice hospitals. Since 1873 we have been growing and building a reputation of excellence in care diagnostics treatment prevention and education. It is the flagship hospital for Corewell Health Grand Rapids Hospitals.
The Butterworth Hospital rehab team provides compassionate care to a wide range of patient populations including cardiovascular cancer orthopedics neurosciences trauma and emergency care services. The rehab team plays a critical role during a patients hospital stay by providing discharge recommendations as well as providing evidencebased therapeutic interventions which improve quality of life. The Butterworth campus serves as a major tertiary and quaternary referral center for West Michigan and beyond. These services include the only Regional Burn Center and Level I Trauma Center in West Michigan.
This Rehabilitation Supervisor position will lead a team of fortyone inclusive of Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants. There is a 20 clinical allocation 8 Hours per week).
Scope of work
Assumes shift accountability for supervising and coordinating the operational effectiveness and efficiency of the rehabilitation services. Performs the duties of licensed Physical Therapists Occupational Therapists or Speech & Language Pathologist as appropriate. Assists with development of policies procedures and processes in coordination with leaders to ensure the highest quality services are delivered at the right time at all times to all customers. Key responsibilities include assisting with the following: goal setting program development fiscal management resource allocation standards of care policy and procedure development and interpretation human resource development performance improvement and maintenance of interdisciplinary collaborative relationships.
Qualifications
- Associates degree from a physical therapy assistant program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association; or from a certified therapy assistant program certification by the American Occupational Therapy Association Required.
- Bachelors degree in the appropriate field of rehabilitation (Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy or Speech & Language Pathology) or Business Management or Healthcare Administration or similar or a combination of equivalent degree certification and/or experience Preferred.
- Skills knowledge abilities typically gained through 1 year of related clinical experience Required.
- 1 year of relevant clinical experience Required.
- MI Physical Therapist Assistant Required Or
- NBCOT Occupational Therapy Assistant Certified (COTA) Required Or
- MI Physical Therapist Required Or
- NBCOT Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) Required Or
- ASHA Speech Language Pathologist Required.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
