Location: Hotel Arista
Department: Banquets
Reports to:Banquet Director
Status:Hourly Exempt
Compensation Range:$9 /hour plus applicable service charge commensurate with experience and education.
Age Requirements: Must be 18

Role Summary:
Banquet Servers serve all catered food and beverage items to guests during private events in a timely friendly enthusiastic and professional manner. Additionally an individual in this position ensures that the station and table set ups are complete and meet departmental standards prior to service.


Responsibilities:
  1. Completes all opening closing and running side work.
  2. Attends all preshift meetings.
  3. Serves guests orders promptly and according to established standards policies and procedures.
  4. Clears tables and return all equipment to their respective areas.
  5. Retrieves all reusable food items and place them on a separate queen.
  6. Ensures that all spills and breakage are attended to immediately.
  7. Informs manager or captain of any problems or complaints from guests.
  8. Checks food before service to guests to be certain that appearance temperature and portions are correct.
  9. Maintains a complete an uptodate knowledge of all menu items daily additions and beverages offered. (ingredients and preparation).
  10. Maintains a clean and safe workspace.
  11. Follows hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
  12. Understands applicable emergency procedure and evacuation protocol.
  13. Performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education
  1. High school Diploma or equivalent education.
  2. Certification in alcohol awareness program (BASSET) is preferred.

Experience
  1. Prior service experience preferably in a banquet setting.
  2. Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.

Skills
  1. Excellent written and verbal skills.
  2. Neat and clean appearance.
  3. Ability to work in a team environment.
  4. Must be able to compute basic arithmetic.
  5. Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work nights weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
  1. Must be able to stand and exert wellpaced mobility for up to 8 hours.
  2. Reach overhead and below the knees including bending twisting pulling and stooping.
  3. Must be able to bend squat and lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
