Production Supervisor
Job Description:
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for meeting production requirements controlling labor costs staffing the job site assigning personnel and meeting leadership motivational mentoring and people development requirements. Responsible for implementing policies procedures and training to ensure a safe work environment. Acts as management representative on the production floor. Strives to make continuous improvements in production operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree/Engineering degree completed.
- 3 years of experience in Manufacturing Processes.
- Experience in rotational molding.
- Experience in plastic injection molding.
- Personnel management.
- Lean Manufacturing.
- ISO experience.
- Six Sigma.
Functions:
- Promotes and manages shift production operations in accordance with SPL Monterey's mission strategy and profitability objectives.
- Provides work direction training and standards for production staff. Maximizes effective utilization of manufacturing resources.
- Understand and achieve internal and external customer standards for product quality.
- Achieves cost targets for production processes and manufacturing expenses. Understands and achieves specific targets for customer product delivery.
- Works on the production floor (flare parting line flare molds maintenance molds).
- Provides leadership and knowledge to continuously improve safety quality and performance. Addresses problems as they arise.
- Organize molds. As needed change mold locations and print new mold labels. Works with scheduler to set up mold changes. Ensures travelers are provided to Operators.
- Organizes the plant by moving s storing finished products obtaining and storing molds obtaining powder tracking s when necessary and calling for s pickup when necessary. Works with the quality department to complete RGA's.
- Ensures proper written and verbal communication takes place between shifts support groups and employees on a daily basis.
- Ensures part quality is checked and documented.
- Implements and maintains safety and housekeeping standards to provide a clean and safe work environment for our employees customers and suppliers. Promotes safety and maintains a work environment that meets or exceeds applicable government and company standards.
- Supports production employees in the selection of personal protective equipment.
- Identifies and resolves any safety issues and makes recommendations for correction if necessary. Informs management and human resources of any safety problems or work related injuries.
- Reviews injury/illness investigation reports and noninjury incidents and follows up as needed. Conducts accident investigations as needed.
- Motivates and leads a high performing team and provides mentoring as a cornerstone to achieve results.
- Manages direct reports. Responsible for the overall direction coordination and evaluation of these personnel. Performs supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. This includes interviewing employees planning assigning and directing work evaluating performance; training rewarding and disciplining employees; Addressing complaints and resolving problems/issues.
- Maintains time reports for shift employees monitoring overtime and any other issues affecting cost control and efficient operations. Tracks absenteeism and ensures that Human Resources and/or Payroll are informed of absences leave of absence requests illnesses accommodation requests or any other requests
- Conducts weekly production employee meetings on plant/shift accomplishments any areas of improvement problems and safety items.
