Job Description
TITLE: Career and Tech. Emergency Medical Technician EMT) Teacher forSchool Year
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 Month
REPORTS TO: Career & Tech Building Principal
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: Provide training to juniors and seniors with classroom instruction projectbased learning and handson skills that would prepare students to complete their required EMT training program while preparing them to take the NYS EMT Certification exam.
- Communicate with parents teachers school counselors and others involved inthe education of the student
- Maintain discipline in the classroom and work sites
- Monitor students academic progress including but not limited to progress/marking period grades attendance handson performance skills
- Implement 504 plans and IEPs for students with diverse learning needs
- Keep current with changes and developments inelectrical industries
- Other responsibilities as determined by the CTE Principal
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 35 years experience as an EMT
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Hold current certification as a NYS EMT or higher.
Anticipated or current CertifiedInstructor Coordinator (CIC) Certification
Have or be eligible for Emergency Medical Services 712 Career & Technical Education certification
