Job Description

PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK
Positions in this class are responsible for developing implementing and supervising a greens maintenance program at two smaller golf courses or one large golf course. Incumbents works under the general supervision of the Director of the Department of Parks Arts Recreation and Culture to meet course standards established in conjunction with the Golf Pro and have supervisory responsibilities through maintenance foremen for moderately sized crews at two golf courses or one large golf course.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of a fouryear college degree in Agronomy with considerable experience in golf course turf care and handling herbicides pesticides irrigation systems and fertilizers or an equivalent combination of turf management education and experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
Incumbent must obtain appropriate chemical applicator certification as required by the state of Louisiana within six months of employment.
TYPE OF EXAMINATION:
Examination will be a multiplechoice test.
