Job Description

COOP Electrical Engineer

The Electrical Engineer Coop will be provided basic engineering information to review and develop a better understanding of the facility. The Coop will then be guided in the development of their technical knowledge of continuous chemical manufacturing processes to learn how to troubleshoot and resolve instrumentation electrical or process controls related issues in a timely fashion for safe stable and optimized plant performance. The Coop will work with the engineering staff to aid where needed based on both their interest and areas of need. The Coop is expected to have a strong work ethic and work with the oversight from supervision. The person in this role should conduct themselves professionally as they interact with all site personnel. Communication in this role is key to make the most of the student engineers experience.

Your Scope of Responsibility

  • Becoming familiar with the plant process as well as the instrumentation electrical and process control equipment.
  • Help troubleshooting problems alongside the engineering staff within the facility.
  • Work on small projects assigned with engineering supervision to help solve known issues.
  • Review documentation for instrumentation and process controls develop or update as needed.
  • Assist in the development of instrumentation electrical and process controls procedures.
  • Learn about the importance of plant safety and participate in plant safety initiatives.
  • Establish communications within the engineering and other groups within the company.
  • Present a professional image.
  • Follow all relevant company policies and procedures.
