Job Description
The Assistant Vice President Derivatives & FX Operations Lead will be a member of the Trade Operations team within Nuveen Global Investment Operations. The candidate will act as a senior lead analyst on the team and will be responsible for supporting our investment team by ensuring accurate and timely trade support of Foreign Exchange (FX) and derivatives trades within Nuveens order management accounting and collateral management systems. In addition to supporting production trading the candidate will work closely with Nuveens Equity and Fixed Income investment teams Technology teams and critical business partners such as State Street to advance Nuveens strategic initiatives and implement process improvements to scale and support the growth of the business. The Derivatives & FX Operations Lead will be responsible ensuring timely and accurate communication of trade activity to necessary downstream stakeholders as well as cash and underlying securities related to derivatives trading.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Oversee FX and derivatives trade management activity identifying highrisk issues and resolving trade breaks through Nuveens strategic outsourced operations partners.
Oversee FX and derivatives trade processing analytics and reporting within proprietary derivatives risk and analytics platform supporting investments and risk management teams.
Closely collaborate with Trading Technology and Operations to support strategic initiatives through business analysis development testing and implementation.
Incorporate a risk management mindset focused on identifying and mitigating operational risk through continued process improvement and enhanced operational controls. Develop standard operating procedures and remediation plans to address operational risk.
Oversee and support FX trading hedging and administrative operational activity for FX trading and investment teams. Partner with FX trading and investment teams to improve processes data and infrastructure used to support the monitoring maintenance and of FX mandates.
Responds and oversees routine and complex inquiries from clients custodians and brokers to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions and resolve and research errors or requests that have been escalated.
Acts as a liaison and subject matter expert within the assigned business unit to front office counterparties vendors & internal teams.
Demonstrates a risk and control mindset through adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements; ensures process and audit documentation is always current.
Identifies opportunities for process improvements that enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the trade operations lifecycle and deliver positive internal and external client impacts.

- 3 years of experience working in investment/trading operations
- 3 years of experience supporting FX trading and/or Derivatives
Preferred Skills
- 3 or more years of experience supporting derivatives trading
- 3 or more years of experience in asset management
- Experience with or strong understanding of various derivatives instruments across equity fixed income FX and credit asset classes.
- Strong knowledge of derivatives trade lifecycle and support across bilateral listed and cleared derivatives trading workflows.
- Knowledge of order management systems and/or electronic trading systems to support derivatives and FX trading.
Anticipated Posting End Date:
Base Pay Range: $109500/yr. $151000/yr.Actual base salary may vary based upon but not limited to relevant experience time in role base salary of internal peers prior performance business sector and geographic location. In addition to base salary the competitive compensation package may include depending on the role participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example annual discretionary incentive programs nonannual sales incentive plans or other nonannual incentive plans).
