Reliability Centred Maintenance Analyst (RCM Analyst)

About the Role:

Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is seeking an experienced Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) analyst to support both existing fixed and rotor wing platforms.

BDUK a subsidiary of The Boeing Company employs over 2000 people in the UK and delivers cuttingedge capabilities to UK defence customers. Key programmes include E7 AEW&C P8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft Chinook and Apache fleet support Autonomous Systems and C4ISR services.

This role is part of BDUKs growing Product Support Engineering Department which includes:

  • Reliability Centred Maintenance Analysis

As the RCM SME you will utilise your extensive expertise to champion and embed RCM philosophies and techniques ensuring alignment with industry best practices and compliance with applicable regulatory standards. Reporting to the BDUK RCM Capability Lead you will collaborate closely with other specialists within the department to drive excellence and innovation in RCM implementation.

In this role you will:

  • RCM Analyst: Perform Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) analysis using the correct RCM processes ensuring delivery aligns with defined scope quality standards and timelines.

  • Change Management: Review and process change requests arising from maintenance feedback failure investigations and reliability studies incorporating lessons learned into continuous improvement processes.

  • Customer Engagement: Understand customer requirements and provide expert advice on best practices in RCM methodology and application.

  • RCM Tool Integration: Ensure defined RCM tasks are accurately implemented and updated in the relevant tools or systems.

  • Reliability Foundation Strengthening: Maintain and enhance the organisations reliability framework using a systematic and methodological approach.

These could include driving quality improvements fostering a strong safety culture promoting Diversity and Inclusion mentoring and coaching colleagues engaging in STEM outreach and participating in focus projects aimed at supporting the growth of the company and its employees.

The preferred candidate will have most of the following with some considered essential:

Essential Skills Qualifications and Experience:

  • Eligibility for UK SC Security Clearance: Applicants must be able to obtain the necessary clearance.

  • Subject Matter Expertise in RCM: Extensive knowledge and handson application experience in Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) MSG3 or FMEA principles practices and methodologies.

  • Leadership and Mentorship: Demonstrated ability to act as an RCM SME including teaching mentoring and developing junior engineers.

  • Maintenance and Engineering Expertise: Strong professional background in maintenance and engineering with proven experience in practical application.

Desirable Skills qualification and experience

  • Defence Industry Familiarity (Preferred): Experience in a defencerelated air environment is advantageous but not essential.

  • Risk & Reliability Management: Comprehensive knowledge and application experience with risk and reliability management systems and techniques.

  • Commitment to Quality: Proven track record of driving firsttime quality in engineering outputs.

  • Understanding of Risk & Opportunity Management: Familiarity with the principles and practical application of risk and opportunity management in engineering contexts.

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite particularly MS Word and Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.

  • Educational Qualifications: Ideally educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline and/or formally trained in support engineering principles.
