Job Description:
The Non Desctructive Test (NDT) Engineering Technician performs nondestructive tests on various materials and products. Setup and maintain equipment and assure calibration for tests to be performed. Conduct inspections of materials parts and assemblies using automated and manual methods and techniques. Interpret evaluate and report test results of specific products.
Essential Functions:
Works on nondestructive testing assignments of routine nature and limited complexity following established and wellknown procedures where limited judgment is required.
Assists higher level NDT Technicians by performing standard nondestructive testing inspections on components parts and assemblies.
Assists in setting up and calibrating equipment under the direct observation of higher level NDT Technicians.
Assists in preparing components for nondestructive testing inspection utilizing available equipment and processes under the direct observation of higher level technician(s).
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years prior NDT experience 2 year postsecondary/AA Degree and 02 years prior NDT experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
Knowledge of applicable laws codes ordinances and regulations.
Knowledge of the techniques tools and equipment used in the inspection process.
Knowledge of NonDestructive Testing methods.
Basic arithmetic algebra and physics principles and operations to solve problems.
Ability to interpret engineering specifications drawings blueprints production plans and/or work instructions.
