Job Title: Associate Electrical Engineer (Waco TX)
Job Description:
The L3Harris State College facility specializes in the design manufacturing and service of fieldable systems that support critical electronic warfare (EW) and communication systems missions. Our team of multidiscipline engineers develop prototype systems in close coordination with customers to support these essential missions.Our flexible customerfocused personnel provide expertise in a broad range of disciplines including:
- System design and architecture
- RF/microwave design
- Digital design
- Testing and automation
- Mechanical packaging
As an associate electrical engineer you will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of the design process from concept to fielded installation. This role offers valuable experience and the chance to provide critical support to the warfighter.
Essential Functions:
The candidate will apply RF design processes including requirements generation preliminary design peer reviews detailed design test plan and procedure generation and integration and test of RF and microwave electronics. They will review and collaborate on writing requirements for electronic assemblies and create solutions for satisfying those requirements. Requirements will be validated through analysis and test.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- Must be able to obtain and hold a Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Theoretical and practical knowledge with microwave millimeter wave and high frequency signals
- Experience using more than one of the following RF Simulation Software packages: Keysight ADS/ SystemView or Cascade Analysis
- Familiarity with Momentum CST Microwave StudioMATLAB and Signal Processing Toolbox
- Familiarity with VHDL the FPGA design process and the tools used to generate the FPGA designs.
- Familiarity with Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design processes
- Familiarity with analog components such as opamps and comparators.
- Experience with common lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes power supplies DVMs function generators and logic analyzers.
- Experience with highspeed memory and network interfaces and protocols
- Experience or Knowledge of RF engineering design
- Experience or familiarity with at least one of the following RF Simulation Software packages: Keysight ADS/ SystemView or Cascade Analysis
- Ability to interpret design requirements for RF electronic assemblies
- Familiarity with RF and microwave measurement tools such as network analyzers spectrum analyzers and power meters
- Experience or ability to execute RF electronic assembly level test plans and procedures
- Ability to document test results and designs to present to team members and customers
- Ability to work in a team environment and negotiate solutions with Hardware / Software Engineering and Systems Engineering is preferred.
- Ability to apply troubleshooting techniques to determine root cause of test failures
- Ability to analyze test data in support of requirements validation
