IPX Engineer IP at our HQ in Bern
To start work immediately or at a later date by agreement.
We are strengthening our IPX Engineering Team in Bern and are looking for a motivated and dedicated engineer to provide exceptional customer support in the area of IPX services. As a technically oriented professional you are eager to further develop your expertise in IPX technologies and adept at handling daily challenges. You will work alongside industryleading experts and have the opportunity to contribute to the continued success of Comfone.
In this IPX Engineer position within the IP domain you will be responsible for the following areas:
- Operate maintain and develop the IPX transport services and systems of Comfone
- Implement and manage IP transport access links to Comfone IPX including planning routing testing documentation and providing technical support to Comfone customers and peers
- Improve the IP access infrastructure supporting IPX services ensuring reliable performance and scalability
- Proactively monitor the IP access network and manage capacity to ensure optimal performance and prevent issues before they impact service
- Troubleshoot services and resolve technical incidents worldwide to minimize downtime and restore services efficiently
- Provide 2ndlevel oncall duty support to internal and external parties
Your ideal profile
- University degree or equivalent in the field of telecommunications communication systems or comparable with a very good understanding of IP networks and protocols
- Experience in working with Cisco/Arista routers and switches as well as firewalls including configuration troubleshooting and performance optimization
- Deep knowledge of IP networkingrelated protocols and technologies including routing protocols BGP ISIS MPLS TCP/IP IPSec VLANs QoS and DNS as well as familiarity with network security principles and practices
- At least 5 years of professional experience in operating carriergrade IP networks
- Knowledge of the LTE/GSM mobile network technologies and roaming industry is a plus
- Dynamic communicative and customer focused with a commitment to delivering highquality reliable service
- Fluent in English both written and spoken. Extra languages are a plus
- You are willing to work in Bern Switzerland
The position is open to Swiss and EU nationals and to holder of a valid Swiss work permit.
