Position title: Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) Reports to: Occupational Therapist/Director of Student ServicesThe Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant is responsible for implementing therapy regarding students fine motor skills and functional abilities (e.g. visualmotor fine motor coordination sensory development muscle strength etc. under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Plan and implement evidencebased interventions appropriate for individual students and/or groups of students based on their individual needsAdapt materials to assist students with disabilities in accessing the curriculumImplement instruction and interventions to work on students IEP goals in the area of fine motor and sensory skillsMake datadriven instructional decisions to improve student outcomesCollect data on student performance to improve student outcomes and direct instructionMonitor student progress and complete a progress report for each studentCommunicate with parents and other appropriate school personnel if neededTake student attendance for each class or sessionAdhere to established rules regulations laws and appropriate ethical standardsPerform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Student ServicesQualificationsRequired:Bachelors DegreeMassachusetts license as an Occupational TherapistA minimum of two years of successful experience with pediatric OTExpertise with specially designed instruction in the field of occupational therapyKnowledge of the requirements of state and federal regulationsCurrent authorization to work in the United States by the first day of employmentWorking Conditions: Safety is essential to job performance.
