Job Title:PK12 MultiTiered Systems of Support for Academics (MTSSA) Teaching and Learning Consultant

Work Schedule/FSLA Status: 12 month 261 days / Exempt
Salary Schedule:Omaha School Administrators Association (OSAA) Level 6 /Salary credit may be awarded for applicable experience. Placement on the salary schedule will follow theapplicable summary document.
Start Date: August 1 2025
Position Purpose:The MTSSA Teaching and Learning Consultant will lead the Omaha Public Schools MTSSA initiative in evidencebased strategies to establish and implement a tiered framework that uses data to meet the needs of each and every student through academics. The MTSSA Teaching and Learning Consultant will provide guidance across the district to ensure that research based MTSS strategies interventions and systems are in place to support student achievement.
Essential Performance Responsibilities:
- Ensure integration of MTSSA strategies with the districts strategic plan and priorities.
- Create and implement a district wide MTSSA framework.
- Implement and lead a District MTSSA committee.
- Provide leadership and support to school administrators for the change process to implement district initiatives as directed by the Superintendent and strategic plan.
- Collaborate with Elementary Secondary and Special Education Divisions to identify tiered interventions and supports
- Collaborate with the MTSSB Supervisor and SEL Supervisor to coordinate district MTSS implementation efforts.
- Partner with other departments (i.e. Human Resources Research Student and Community Services etc. to coordinate professional development and ongoing professional learning communities across the district to support the implementation of evidencebased MTSSA strategies and interventions to better student outcomes.
- Provide differentiated coaching and guidance to school administrators and schoolbased teams to support effective leadership and implementation of MTSSA strategies.
- Provide more intensive targeted supports to subset of higher need school sites.
- Support the districts SAT process to provide training to building level staff in collaboration with the MTSSB Supervisor.
- Provide and/or facilitate professional development for all aspects of the district multitiered academic framework.
- Monitor district level data collection management and analysis in collaboration with Research to inform MTSSA implementation is occurring with fidelity.
- Based on data oversee the development of academic interventions problemsolving processes progress monitoring and communication and collaboration process among Student Assistance Teams.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Masters degree or higher in area of Administration and Supervision.
- A valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate with endorsement in the area of administration is preferred.
- Successful experience 35 years minimum) working in or with an urban education system.
- Knowledge and understanding of MultiTiered Systems of Support for Behavior and Academics.
- Ability to coordinate and collaborate with diverse groups of professionals across multiple departments and organizations to achieve unified consistent practices.
- Skilled multitasker and excellent time manager; ability to effectively achieve multiple goals and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Classroom teaching or schoolbased management experience highly preferred.
- Ability to build consensus implement a plan and create collective efficacy toward a common goal.

Performs other related tasks as assigned.
Equipment:This position may require the ability to use basic office equipment such as computers copiers scanners and fax machine. Must always comply with Omaha Public Schools guidelines for equipment use.
Travel: Travel between school and central office is required.

Employee Punctuality and Appearance:
- In order for schools to operate effectively employees are expected to perform all assigned duties and work all scheduled hours during each designated workday unless the employee has received approved leave.
- Any deviation from assigned hours must have prior approval from the employees supervisor or building administrator.
- All employees are required to report to work dressed in a manner that reflects a positive image of Omaha Public Schools and is appropriate for their position.
Terms of Employment
This position is treated as a fulltime exempt certified position. The terms of your employment will be governed by applicable state laws regulating employment or teaching in a Nebraska public school and Board of Education policies as those laws and policies may change from time to time. If your position is represented by a collective bargaining representative then your employment will also be governed by a negotiated agreement between OPS and that collective bargaining representative.
Terms of employment are contingent upon:
- Verification of a valid Nebraska Teaching License or other required license.
- A background check which demonstrates background is acceptable for the position sought and working with or around students.
- Verification of U.S. Citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Successful completion of a tuberculosis skin test (if required by federal law for your position).
- and delivery to OPS of an Administrator Contract presented by OPS.
