Description / Position Overview

About the Job:
This position provides technical support related to case investigations subject to discovery (e.g. a suspect has been arrested an arrest warrant has been issued or a filing decision is requested) to the District Attorneys Office via eDiscovery in accordance with law and established discovery guidelines from the 4th Judicial District District Attorneys Office.

As a Business Support Specialist II in the Filings Unit you will:
  • Provides case investigations subject to discovery (e.g. a suspect has been arrested an arrest warrant has been issued or a filing decision is requested) to the District Attorneys Office via eDiscovery in accordance with law and established discovery guidelines from the 4th Judicial District District Attorneys Office.
  • Follows proper discovery procedures as outlined in CSPD policy.
  • Provides new discovery on assigned cases to the District Attorneys Office in a timely manner.
  • Participate in case audits with their assigned supervisor ensuring proper discovery procedures are being followed.
  • Reports to their supervisor discovery adherence and any identified issues or failures.
  • Searches various systems and databases to locate discoverable information.
  • Review of administrative case filing email system to identify new discoverable information.
  • Communicates and coordinates with investigative units.
  • Communicates and coordinates with other department personnel to obtain discoverable information.
  • Communicates and coordinates with the District Attorneys Office to provide discoverable information on short notice.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of modern office procedures methods and equipment including computers and supporting software
  • Knowledge of proper English usage spelling punctuation and grammar
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing as well as be able to deescalate customers and situations as necessary
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills and the extensive use of a computer keyboard.

Minimum Qualifications


One year of relevant work experience may be substituted for one year of required education (OR) one year of relevant academic coursework beyond the minimum requirement may be substituted for one year of required professional experience.
