Job Description

Queenslands newest public hospital is set to open in Springfield in 2026 and expressions of interest are now open for medical professionals!

Addressing unmet health needs is central to Maters Mission and was the driving force behind Maters decision to build the first private hospital in the masterplanned community of Springfield in 2015. The under construction expansion of the hospital will meet the current and future health needs of the rapidly growing western corridor with Springfields first public hospital reducing the need to travel to Ipswich or Brisbane for emergency maternity or paediatric care.

The expansion will deliver the following infrastructure:

  • 174 public overnight and sameday beds bringing the total number of beds to 233
  • Intensive Care Unit and maternity services
  • a muchneeded Emergency Department
  • more operating theatres and endoscopy suites
  • increased clinical capability for more complex care to be delivered locally.

Construction is expected to be completed late 2025 with a planned opening of 2026 with Mater seeking expressions of interest from Doctors in all specialty areas.
