Job Description
We are seeking a person who is excited about working with 36yearold children in a farm environment where much of the playbased curriculum is derived from outdoor exploration a teacher who believes in an emphasis on social emotional learning while also preparing our learners with the necessary skills to succeed at their next school.Apple Orchard School is located on Allandale Farm in Brookline. We are committed to naturebased learning through play and an emergent curriculum. We are an outdoor program that spends extended periods of time in all seasons exploring and discovering in nature. Our focus is on developing young children through authentic experiences with our barn animals and in nature. The position is for a teacher to start September 2 2025. The hours are 11:00 4:15 two days a week and 7:454:15 two days a week for a total of 28 hours.As a school we strive to create a community of trust and positive feelings toward learning within an active farm community. We see children as capable curious creative caring and connected individuals striving to develop meaningful relationships and gain skills that are the foundation for wellbeing and knowledge. We value play and movement. We teach them about friendships family empathy compassion responsibility teamwork equity inclusion accountability and collaboration. Our goal is to instill in each child a sense of themselves as a unique member of our community an interest in asking questions and the confidence to take risks. We believe that harmful stereotypes are learned at this age and work to ensure that children are accepting of difference and inclusive of others. Our focus enables children to be kind and contributing members of their communities beyond Apple Orchard.Depending on experience and degrees this position would pay $25 $30/hr.Please contact Sherry Landry Classroom Director at
