CLOSING DATE: Continuously Open; with weekly reviews
POSITION: Short Notice Licensed Practical Nurse
SALARY: $33.09 p/h
REPORTS TO: Director of Nursing
LOCATION: Convalescent Center: Nespelem Washington
Basic Functions:Provide direct nursing care to the residents. Supervise the daytoday nursing activities performed by the NACs. Such supervision must be in accordance with all current federal state and tribal standards guidelines and regulations governing the facility. Provide the highest degree of care to each and every resident.
Qualifications
Education and Training:
- Requires a current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Washington AND have 12 months of experience in a long term care facility preferred
- Requires a valid Washington State Drivers License and must be eligible for the Tribes Vehicle Insurance
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Requires knowledge of nursing medical practices and procedures as well as laws regulations and guidelines that pertain to longterm care.
- Requires incumbent toreport abuse and neglect to State Hotline as a mandated reporter.
- Requires the ability to make independent decisions.
- Requires ability to cover extra shifts when able as this facility operates 24 hours a day seven days a week.
- Requires ability to read write and understand the English language.
- Requires knowledge ofGeriatrics and LTC setting and Chronic Diseases.
- Requires knowledge of and ability to respectresident rights.
- Requires abilityto push pull move and/or lift a minimum of fifty 50 pounds to a minimum height of three 3 feet and must be able to push pull move and/or carry such a weight a minimum distance of fifty 50 feet.
- Must be available to work all shifts weekends and holidays.
Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to preemployment drug testing. In addition this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and postaccident drug testing.
TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.
If required of this position you must possess and maintain avalid Washington State drivers license and be eligible for the Tribes Vehicle Insurance. In addition this position may be subject to preemployment background clearances. If applicable these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
