As a Nurse Practitioner at Richmond County health department within East Central Public Health District you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.
Starting salary range:

Georgia Department of Public Health Commissioner and leaders encourages all employees to engage in regular wellness activities and to make lifestyle choices that promote health and wellbeing. The use of wellness breaks during the workday is authorized to support this philosophy and assist employees in meeting their wellness goals. A maximum of 30minutes in a given workday may be used to engage in wellness activities generally in the form of two 15minute breaks or one 30minute break.
Collection of pertinent health information prior to examinations
Ability to interpret diagnostic test results for deviations from normal
Instructs and counsels clients about prescribed therapeutic regimens
Completes accurate and thorough documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) in timely manner
Doctorate or masters degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
Certification in the specialty area
Current Georgia License as an APRN
Active and nonrestricted Professional Nursing license in the state of Georgia
Current CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications:
Collection of pertinent information from new and returning patients in addition to physical examinations
Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections immunizations wound care and infection management
Insertion and removal of birth control apparatuses
Employment Information
Current State employees are subject to State Personnel Board rules regarding salary.
DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree diploma licensure etc.
The candidate selected for this position may be subject to preemployment drug screening and a criminal background check.
