Job Description

Overview

As a Data Engineer youll work with our stateoftheart customer database and marketing technology infrastructure. Data is at the heart of our business and we are fortunate to have a wealth of information for our extensive customer database. Youll be designing implementing and maintaining our data infrastructure and pipelines playing a crucial role in enabling datadriven analytics and customer marketing. Youll work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams to gather requirements implement data models and ensure data accuracy and integrity. Reporting to the Senior CRM & Data Operations Manager youll be part of a successful and experienced data engineering team. This role requires a strong data engineering analytics and customer marketing background.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Build Data Pipelines: Create and maintain batch streaming and integration pipelines.
  • Data Management:Assemble large complex data sets that meet functional and nonfunctional business requirements.
  • Process Improvement:Identify design and implement internal process improvements such as automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery.
  • Data Integration:Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction transformation and loading (ETL) of data from various data sources.
  • Collaboration:Work with stakeholders including data scientists analysts and other team members to support their data infrastructure needs.
  • Data Quality:Ensure data is clean reliable and readily available for analysis and reporting.
  • Maintain data in line with GDPR obligations housekeeping and deletion of data in line with data retention policy reporting on user consumption.
  • Create and maintain documentation to enable data governance.
  • Management of customer golden record via data entity matching and development of the single customer view models.
  • Build analytical data models with consideration for performance usability and scalability.
  • Build and maintain APIs and microservices utilising best practice to ensure security and performance.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 35 years handson experience with big data tools and frameworks.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL with knowledge of Python and other programming languages used in the processing of structured and unstructured data.
  • ProblemSolving:Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot datarelated issues.
  • Communication:Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with data visualisation platforms (Power BI Tableau Looker etc)
  • Knowledge of reporting/BI query languages
  • Understanding of structured data formats (XML JSON etc)
