JOB DESCRIPTION: To assist the principal in ensuring the wellbeing and academic success of students through collaboration with families school staff and outside agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS: Administrative certificate preferred evidence of participation in a leadership program required. Bilingual preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and assist with monitoring the educational and behavioral performance of all students to ensure academic success.
- Assist with the documentation process required by federal law to maintain time and effort logs.
- Assist in the development of intervention plans to help students become successful in school.
- Coordinate services with the school resource officer and outside agencies to provide an environment which supports the factors that increase student achievement (i.e. safety attendance homeless medical and dental programs).
- Communicate student progress to parents and provide significantly extended learning activities for the home environment.
- Plan and implement outreach programs to enhance student academic performance and create parental involvement and support.
- Coordinate extended learning opportunities for students and families (i.e. extended library and computer lab hours Saturday programs and field trips).
- Develop activities that include nonparent members of the community as valued members of the school and community partnership.
- Assist with responsibilities and documentation processes which ensure the growth and development of all staff members to achieve desired student academic outcomes.
- Continue to grow professionally through appropriate staff development opportunities and obtain a minimum of fifteen 15 clock hours of staff development each year.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
