Mandatory Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience providing risk management and contract consulting services to large public entities.
- Extensive experience with commercial insurance lines including but not limited to the requested coverages.
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable policy forms to provide maximum coverage; ability to analyze coverage quotes identify potential policy coverage gaps and make recommendations.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using risk management information systems.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.

Highly Desired Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications (e.g. ARM CPCU).
- Experience with public sector clients.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conduct risk management and property/casualty insurance/selfinsurance program reviews.
- Perform selfinsurance feasibility studies including lines of coverage not listed in the RFCSP.
- Conduct annual audits of General Liability and vendor contracts including thirdparty administrators certified network administrators and drug testing providers. Provide detailed professional reports summarizing the results.
- Conduct audits of certificates of insurance policies and supplemental insurance documents as well as risk reviews upon request. Provide recommendations for improving the audit process.
- Assist with special projects and ongoing services addressing a wide range of risk management concerns.
- Advise and assist the City and its staff in the continued development of risk management and/or insurance consulting and/or selfinsurance programs.
- Provide the following risk management and insurance/selfinsurance consulting services:
- Participate in the preparation of an annual report covering the operations objectives results and future goals of the Citys risk management program.
- Offer professional personnel for routine consultations meetings research and advice.
- Review insurance and selfinsurance contracts new and renewal premium billings audits and coverage changes providing comments and recommendations.
- Summarize insurance contracts in a policy highlight format for inclusion in a policy binder updating summaries as significant changes occur.
- Provide counsel and leadership to the Citys Office of Risk Management attend committee meetings and prepare minutes as requested.
- Monitor and notify the City of major developments in the insurance industry and the Citys insurers or policies.
- Coordinate with the City to ensure uptodate exposure data is incorporated into newly purchased policies.
- Respond to coverage or other insurance policy questions including conducting COI and policy reviews.
- Review insurance requirements and indemnity clauses in contracts and agreements.
- Assist with the development and modification of insurance requirements.
- Review specifications scopes of work vendor proposals and contracts for risk assessment and risk transfer recommendations.
- Make recommendations for implementing legislation affecting the Citys business practices.
- Provide training to Risk Analysts regarding new laws statutes and insurance coverages.
- Assist in developing insurance specifications marketing submissions and underwriting criteria.
- Assess the financial strength of insurance companies risk retention and purchasing groups and captive insurers.
- Provide ongoing advisory services concerning changes or enhancements to the programs.
