Maintenance Worker

Position Overview: EASTCONN is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Worker to join our Facilities team. The Maintenance Worker will play a vital role in maintaining the condition safety and functionality of our diverse facilities. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the success of EASTCONNs mission by ensuring a safe and conducive environment for learning and collaboration.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks across various facilities including HVAC systems plumbing electrical systems carpentry and general maintenance.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Complete work orders in a timely manner and maintain accurate records of tasks performed.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective facility operations.
• Assist in setup and breakdown for events and programs hosted by EASTCONN.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines promoting a secure work environment.
• Support emergency response procedures such as snow removal and equipment repairs.
• Participate in projects to enhance the functionality and appearance of facilities.
• Contribute to the maintenance of a clean organized and professional work environment.
• Provide emergency response when required including security system 24 hr oncall).
• Ability to do heavy lifting snow removal and grounds upkeep.
• Ability to operate various types of equipment.
• Periodic floor maintenance and/or custodial duties.
• Other duties assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Maintenance Worker or similar role.
• Knowledge of general maintenance systems.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
• Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
• Experience with facilities management software is a plus.
• Valid drivers license.
