The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a fulltime temporary 14 months) Advanced Practice Clinical Leader in the Clinical Care Program Crisis Critical Care Unit 7. Reporting to the Senior Clinical Director of Adult Inpatient and Psychosis Recovery and Treatment Outpatient Services as an Advanced Practice Clinical Leader you will support pointofcare staff in the implementation and evaluation of best practices in the assessment individual and group treatment for patients with acute psychiatric illnesses within a traumainformed framework to women and gender diverse individuals with complex mood disorders that may be complicated by a trauma experience personality disorder or substance use.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Program leadership team to support inpatient pointofcare teams and models of care. You will role model clinical practice in complex care situations; engage in direct care activities for complex and high risk clients; lead development of the programs groups programming; support interprofessional collaborative care academic and research opportunities; promote the implementation and audit of documentation standards; participate in or facilitate quality improvement projects and quality reviews focusing on patient safety; and supervise graduate students. Together with operational and other professional practice leaders you will participate in program planning and evaluation; support integrated clinical resource in programlevel and organizational level strategic planning activities for both inpatient and outpatient services. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements. This position provides support to clinical teams at the Queen Street Site and outpatient settings in the community.
The successful candidate will possess a Masters Degree in a Nursing and will be a member of good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario. In addition 5 years experience in mental health and addiction treatment is required. Applicants must demonstrate an understanding of the complex psychiatric and physical health needs of this clinical population. Additional qualifications such as CNA certification in psychiatric/mental health or other relevant certification is an asset. Eligibility for crossappointment at the University of Toronto is also required. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to provide professional practice leadership; the ability to challenge and motivate others; a commitment to enhancing academic and research endeavours; experience in leading change and the ability to provide advanced clinical care in a culturally diverse environment. Previous advanced practice/administrative/academic scholarship is an asset. The candidate will also have excellent interpersonalcommunication negotiation teaching and computer skills. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
