Job Description

Job Summary

  • Support OilDri Corporation of America (ODCA) strategic Mission Vision and the WE CARE values through the development and implementation of improvement initiatives aligned with ODCAs business goals.
  • Develop Continuous Improvement and Reliability Improvement opportunities using Data Analysis and Reliability Principles. Keeping in mind the goal to reach and maintain high manufacturing OEE/TEEP at the highest practical Reliability. This is achieved through improved processes reduced failures and riskbased proposals to improve. In all activities considering that products and services must meet customer requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Develop leadership skills to successfully implement operational reliability and process improvements throughout the manufacturing organization. During development demonstrate the skill set on the floor.
  • Own the key manufacturing data systems that are used to record operating information. With this data provide analysis and presentation formats that improve plant performance and support the reliability journeys at our plants.
  • Develop Lean TPM FMEA or SixSigma style analytical and problemsolving abilities to identify opportunities for cost reduction quality improvement process streamlining leadtime reduction inventory reduction and similar type improvement areas. During development demonstrate the skill set on the floor.
  • Utilize existing data analysis skills to create and issue performance reports including analysis of the findings. Data sources can be from multiple data bases and systems across multiple platforms. Examples include Aveva Historian Sequel Servers JDE data and other file systems that mange large amounts of data.
  • Utilize reliability analysis technics on data available from both JDE and our Historia/Insight tools to drive reliability improvements using Fault Tree and Root Cause tools.
  • Deploy and update a standardized set of manufacturing and reliability metrics to track improvements within a Plant. These are often databased reviews and opportunity identification.
  • Based upon studies findings and improvement activities recommend standards for manufacturing lines and reliability KPIs within the ERP system.
  • Recommend improvement opportunity parameters assemble and train teams (if a teambased improvement) and assist the teams through the improvement processes to ensure improvement objectives are met. Effectively utilize resources that are not directly under her/his control to achieve both individual and team goals.
  • Own the process of maintenance part setup for OilDri. This includes the management of our taxonomy request system (HP Tool) proper entry into JDE and overall oversight of this process.
  • Lead machine criticality studies for reliability improvement following the standard OilDri process. This will include criticality analysis of our machines and the underlying parts that support their functions. This supports the riskbased failure decision process to stock or not stock parts.
  • Be an active member of the Continuous Improvement Team participating with others on common projects.
  • Comply with all safety policies practices and procedures and act on all unsafe events.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Perform other such duties as may be required.

Qualifications

  • Experience with an ERP Manufacturing system
  • Experience with data system used in manufacturing
  • Experience with and an understanding of databases and how to leverage them for improvement
  • Associates degree or higher required (in a related field)
  • Minimum 3 years experience in and/or training in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge in Process Industry and experience in a process manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Exposure to the use of Continuous Improvement concepts and Maintenance and Reliability concepts
  • Knowledge of Maintenance Parts and Components
  • Strong Computer Skills and Reasoning Ability required.
  • Possess core values of Honesty and Integrity.
