Job Description
Responsibilities
We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to support a large Department of Defense (DoD) contract with a multimillion dollar yearly procurement budget. The procurement specialist will be part of a team with the following responsibilities:
- GenerateRequest to Initiate Purchases (RIPs) and Travel Authorization Requests (TARs) track through the approval process and ensure timely purchase and delivery of goods and services.
- Responsible to ensure procurements are accurate and processed within the defined Service Level Agreement (SLA) measurements.
- Record accurate cost and funding data for RIPs and TARs.
- Maintain logs and generate regular reports on procurement activities performance metrics and cost savings for senior management.
- Ensure that procurement activities adhere to customer and company standards and policies.
- Maintain relationships with vendors. Work with vendors to obtain quotes and resolve issues.
- Responsible for assembling data analyzing performance identifying problems and developing recommendations which support program planning and operations.
Qualifications
- Associates degree and 7 years of experience; OR Bachelors degree and 5 years of experience; OR Masters Degree and 3 years of experience. Or 0 years with PhD. However four 4 years of additional relevant experience or specialized training will be considered in lieu of a Bachelors degree.
- Active SECRET security clearance.
- Previous experience in procurement supply chain or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook).
- Selfstarter with the ability to perform in fastpaced environment managing multiple priorities at one time.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to interact effectively with vendors internal teams and the customer.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data identify issues and propose solutions to resolve discrepancies.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with GSA/AAS for Request to Initiate Purchases (RIPs) and Travel Authorization Requests (TARs).
- Knowledge of federal procurement regulations including FAR guidelines.
- Experience using Jira software.
- Experience with Excel Pivot Tables.
