Heres how a(n)HSE Coordinatorfor our Edmonton Industrial Managementoffice plays a key role on our team for the North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant in Vancouver BC.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in conducting and identifying when projectspecific training is required which may include weekly training topics hazard specific training and the HSE Operating Procedure (HSEOP)
- Participating in and providing information for HSE meetings
- Providing project team with projectspecific information and statistics to develop trends and assisting with the creation of trend action plans
- Assisting with the development and implementation of Hazard ID tools (e.g. Construction Hazard Assessment (CHA) Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) Prejob Safety Instruction (PSI)
- Conducting and documenting project HSE inspections
- Verifying that corrective actions are implemented
- Identifying and monitoring appropriate site PPE
- Assisting project management and supervision with the implementation and monitoringof the emergency response planproject security requirements andenvironmental plan
- Gathering reviewing and providing input on trade documentation
- Monitoring trade contractor safety compliance
- Notifying project management and direct supervision of any incident and assisting with the investigation
- Assisting in the implementation monitoring and support of the projects HSE Plan HSEOPs safe work practices and any other HSErelated practices.
Qualifications
- Residing in Vancouver or within the area ispreferred
- Postsecondary diploma or degree in OH&S is considered an asset
- Safety designation such as NCSO CRSP or CHST are considered an asset
- 2 years experience in a related industry with direct experience in HSE
- Knowledge of applicable OH&S and environmental legislation
- Ability to implement HSE processes
- Demonstrated ability to influence project teams regarding HSE responsibility
- Ability to identify and resolve conflicts with craft workers
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Ability to develop influence and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology
Pay range for this position is: $36 $48 per hour and will require overtime.
