Job Description

Main Purpose of Job

The Operations Administrative Officer position assists with the daily operations of the Chief of Staff and Operations Division. This position coordinates tasks related to federal and state grant reporting and tracking. Furthermore this position drafts and distributes Notice of Grant Awards of state and federal funds to the local Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) and other grantees. This position serves as the manager of the Departments grants management system as well. Finally this staff member assists executive and senior management as well as program staff with special projects reports and administrative assignments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience:One year of administrative staff or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute 30college credit hours from an accredited college or university forthe required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that includedregular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans policies rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a yearforyear basis for the requiredexperience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

One year experience working with the Dept.of Agings Grants Management System

Experience working with AAAs and reviewing their submitted documentation.

LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland.
