Job Description

Mechanic / Technology Specialist

Job Purpose and Objectives:

Skilled manual work which includes maintenance diagnostics and repair of county automobiles pickups vans and equipment. This includes law enforcement and transit vehicles and equipment. Work is performed under the supervision of the Director of Automotive.

Position Requirements and Qualifications: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed in the attached job description are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Position Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D. plus two years vocational/technical or manufacturers training in auto or diesel mechanics.
Two years shop experience may be substituted for education.
ASE or factory certification required.
Must provide own hand tools and storage.

Certifications / Licenses:

Must maintain a valid Kansas drivers license.
Attends ongoing jobrelated training.
