Job Duties
The Nutritionist Associate independently determines nutrition eligibility of
applicants/clients within program guidelines and independently prescribes
appropriate food packages. Assesses nutritional status/eligibility for program services
by: dietary recall/food frequency history assessing growth patterns weight patterns
biochemical values and medical history. Independently sets dietary goals based on
the assessment. Provides patient counseling specific to the individuals nutritional
needs. Makes referrals for highrisk counseling with Nutritionist when appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications
Possess basic knowledge of nutrition and nutritional standards
Must complete required training to obtain the Certification as a
Competent Professional Authority (CPA) within 6 months of hire
Demonstrated ability to: interview clients & collect client information;
interpret document calculate & compile routine data; routinely obtain
blood sample/finger stick; provide patient education
Must be able to communicate and interact with a variety of patients and
work effectively as a member of a health care team
Skills using computer systems and systems required to support the
programs
Additional Considerations
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course
work in nutrition or related field
Training or course work in Dietetics food services or a related area
