Job Description
Ensuring Charts Success
The main purpose is to Operate CNC machine tools in the manufacturing department specifically in Screw Compressor Rotor manufacturing. This includes milling turning grinding and balancing. Howden have WFL Millturns Holroyd Grinding/Milling machines Danobat cylindrical grinders Schenk balancing machines and manual lathes. All CNC machines have Siemens controlsOperate CNC machine tools in the manufacturing department specifically in Screw Compressor Rotor manufacturing. What Your DaytoDay Activities Will Be
- Manufacture compressor components to Engineering drawings and specifications to ensure successful first time build and test of finished compressors.
- Adhere to all relevant instructions contained within Work Standard Instructions (WSIs) in the manufacture of Compressor components.
- Conform to all aspects of HCOs Quality Management System including the fulfilment of all relevant procedures etc. including all Standard Practice Instructions (SPIs)
- Deliver quality components in a timely manner whilst contributing to efficient and effective manufacturing principles.
- Contribute and comply with accurate collation of Shop Floor Documentation information including data contained within HCOs Shop Floor Data Collection system (SFDC).
- Provide training support for Apprentices and work colleagues to help improve skills levels
- Interact and respond to all aspects of HBE supporting cost reduction efficiency delivery and Quality improvements.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards in compliance with company policy to ensure safe working environment.
What do you bring ...
- Recognised Engineering apprenticeship and relevant qualifications.
- Engineering Drawing interpretation ability
- Experienced in multidisciplined CNC machining Turning Milling and Grinding. Profile Grinding
- Previous experience with precision manufacturing
- Good communication skills
- Experience/Understanding in working with Siemens controls
- Ability in the use of measuring equipment micrometres Ball Mics Thread gauges Callipers

This is a permanent position working 37 hours per week with a starting salary of 33500. You will also have the opportunity to earn shift allowance with the tam currently operating a threeshift rotating structure with a rate of x1.33 consisting of early shift 6am2pm) back shift 2pm10pm) and night shift 10pm6am) Sunday Night Friday Early.
