Supervisor Athletic and Student Support Program - Interlake High School - internal applicants only

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The Program Supervisor position provides administrative support to the principals of a high school in areas such as athletics and activities. A Program Supervisor position may be assigned all athletic and activity responsibilities or all student support activities or the position may be assigned a combination of athletic and activity responsibilities and student support responsibilities. A Program Supervisor works independently under supervision and direction of a principal.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.

Program Supervisor Athletics

• Allocates hours and authorizes payment of work through timecard system.
• Oversees the care maintenance scheduling use and management of athletic facilities fields and equipment.
• Coordinates transportation sale and distribution of tickets banquets and awards training room operations athletic team schedules school athletic calendar student insurance requests operation of vending machines and concessions and playoff events.
• Provides publicity for athletic and activity programs
• Ensures the scheduling of referees to officiate home games and payment for services rendered.
• Maintains athletic team and season records.
• Determines student eligibility.
• Acts as liaison for students staff and parents to help facilitate consistent communication with school personnel and district office.
• Attends various District and outofDistrict meetings as required.
• Administers assigned KingCo League District and State sport(s) on rotating basis; acts as committee member; assists with problemsolving within league.
• Coadministers ASB budget approves purchase orders in collaboration with Activities Coordinator.
• Depending on school assignment oversees student activities student store and vending machines.

Program Supervisor Student Support

• Coordinates the grade reporting process for athletic eligibility purposes
• Coordinates the schools master activities calendar. Insures that all school activities including athletic events guest speakers and field trips are placed on the calendar.
• Insures that custodians are scheduled to open and close the facilities and insures the cleanliness of the buildings when buildings are used for various activities.
• Submits maintenance requisition forms when necessary to repair furniture or other equipment.
• Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

• Reports directly to and is supervised by District Athletics and Activities Director.
• Works closely with building administration.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):

Required:

• Bachelors degree in secondary education business education recreation or related field.
• Preferred:
• Head coaching experience preferred;
• Three years high school coaching experience preferred.
• Experience as a coach or advisor in high school activities program.
• Experience in or awareness of local social service agencies and social work.

Prefered:

• Administrative experience preferred

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS (positions in this class typically require):

• First Aid and CPR training.

KNOWLEDGE (position requirements at entry):

• Knowledge of a variety of sports and school activities.
• Knowledge of the care and purchase of equipment.

SKILLS (position requirements at entry):

• Ability to communicate and work with parents teachers students and the community.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form to students staff and parents.
• Ability to establish and maintain a good working relationship with coaches staff custodians facilities and maintenance people.
• Ability to give guidance and suggestions to coaching staff and training workshops.
• Ability to make informed decisions.
• Ability to plan assign supervise and coordinate work.
• Ability to work collaboratively under the direction of the school administration.
• Ability to work in a team set shared goals and execute them with a degree of independence.

• Drug/alcohol awareness training.
• Organization and time management skills.
• Successful experience working with highrisk highschoolage students of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds in an firm positive and constructive manner.
• Ability to perform all duties in accordance with applicable Board policies and District and Legal requirements.
• Ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Positions in this class typically require: stooping kneeling crouching reaching standing walking pushing pulling lifting finger dexterity grasping talking hearing seeing and repetitive motions.

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts odors chemicals extreme temperatures inadequate lighting workspace restrictions and intense noises.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

CTSA salary level9 $ 120937 to $ 127302annual salary) 40 hours per week for a 260day annual assignment. Medical dental vision longterm disability and lifeinsurance eligibility is based upon .45 FTE. Retirement provided through Washington State Department of Retirement Systems.
