Job Description Summary
In support of the Student Affairs Learning Outcomes the Argyros Forum Student Union provides programs resources and services to cultivate students connection to the Chapman community knowledge of oncampus involvement opportunities investment in school spirit and pride and understanding of the diversity within the Chapman student community. The Lead Entertainment Assistant is responsible for the efficient delivery of services and resources provided daily in the Argyros Forum Student Union with an emphasis on providing regular and diverse entertainment programming to reflect the varying interests of Chapman students. Along with professional staff and in collaboration with the entire Argyros Forum Student Union team the Lead Entertainment Assistant strives to create a welcoming environment that will contribute to the University by building community increasing the students pride in their university and ensuring facility operations are organized and supportive of evolving student needs. All Lead Assistants are members of the Department of Student Engagement and the Division of Student Affairs.
Responsibilities
Positionspecific Responsibilities Work alongside graduate assistant and professional staff to supervise Student Union Assistants including hiring training team development performance evaluation policy enforcement and accountability responsibilities. Through supervisor shifts oversee the daytoday operations of the Student Union in partnership with campus departments including Public Safety Sodexo Facilities Management Custodial Services and Information Systems and Technology. Serve as primary contact for Argyros Forum Student Union at campuswide involvement fairs and sessions. Communicate and collaborate with campus partners and student organizations to coordinate and plan various Community Engagement Voter Registration and daytime and evening entertainment programs. Programs include Programs include Album Release Music Parties Sports in the Union television schedules crafting events and Voter Registration Drives Communicate and collaborate with campus partners and student organizations to promote representation of student identities and interests through rotating gallery exhibits and facility dcor. Specific gallery exhibits and dcor include: the I Am Chapman exhibit Center for Global Education photo contest exhibit Peer and Health Educations What Were You Wearing exhibit Cheverton Award Nominee exhibit cultural and religious dcor reflective of heritage months and days of awareness and Chapmanthemes murals/artwork. Coordinate and promote the Community Supported Agriculture program. Assist with the administration of the Global Citizens Wall Responsibilities Work alongside the graduate assistant and professional staff to supervise Student Union Assistants including hiring training team development performance evaluation and accountability. Through supervisor shifts oversee the daytoday operations of the Student Union in partnership with campus departments including Public Safety Dining Services Facilities Management Custodial Services and Information Systems and Technology. Manage Student Union by ensuring all equipment and furnishings are working properly and that facilities are clean and tidy. Responsibilities include routine maintenance and cleaning as well as submitting work requests for major issues to campus departments Promote the use of Student Union virtual engagement platforms (e.g. Panther Connect Instagram etc. Ensure appropriate use and return of Department of Student Engagement marketing materials Provide onsite supervision of events hosted by campus departments and student organizations Serve as primary contact for Argyros Forum Student Union at campuswide involvement fairs and involvement sessions Attend weekly meetings with the supervision team Lead monthly team meetings with all Student Union staff Assist in Department of Student Engagement departmentwide events Assist in other duties as assigned
