Job Description

What You Can Expect

As our Transactional Tax Intern for Summer 2025 you will gain handson experience analyzing tax transactions in the utility markets including Sales/Use Tax Gross Receipts Tax Utility User Tax and other miscellaneous taxes. In this role you will support the Transactional Tax team by conducting transaction analysis and general ledger reviews evaluating commercial implications of tax exemptions and risk allocation performing tax research related to contracts and jurisdictional requirements and assisting with the preparation of journal entries and tax filings. This hybrid internship is based in our Houston TX office and will run from May 2025 to August 2025.

What Youll Bring

  • You are at least a college sophomore pursuing a Bachelors degree in Tax Accounting or Finance with a focus on taxation seeking realworld experience in your field of study
  • You have a strong desire to obtain your CPA
  • You have a solid understanding of basic accounting principles including journal entries debits/credits and general tax concepts
  • You are proficient in Excel and have experience working with spreadsheets
  • You have outstanding analytical skills and demonstrated expertise in developing and utilizing detailed Excelbased models

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy with a minimum of three 3 days working in office if you are based in Houston TX
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

Compensation

Hourly Range: $21.00 $34.00 USD hourly

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography experience industry knowledge education internal pay alignment or other bona fide factors.
