Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days totaling 80 hours worked and have every other Friday off
Job Description:
We are seeking an an experienced earlycareer materials engineer to join the team and support the RL10 program. RL10 has numerous complex processing requirements which require good fundamental materials knowledge as well as practical industrial skills. Candidate will have the opportunity to interface with a variety of disciplines and work on interesting projects.
Essential Functions:
- Support project teams for the production of rocket engine hardware
- Evaluate materials and processes particularly for nonconforming conditions or offnominal needs
- Identify improvements in processes and requirements to support drives for improved efficiency
- Technical report writing to document internal knowledge
- Labsupport as necessary to manage projects
- 15 Travel
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.May have practical knowledge of project management.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Labbased analytical skills including metallography
- Understanding of fundamental materials engineering
