DescriptionWe are seeking a Karate Instructor for our afterschool program at SAM School! This position offers the chance to combine your passion for martial arts with the opportunity to work with Nursery 3 years) and PreK 4 years) students at one of the premier private schools in the state. We are looking for individuals who have a strong foundation in karate and can create a fun structured and engaging learning environment where students develop confidence discipline and coordination.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Actively engage and motivate students during karate lessons and activities.
- Develop your own karate curriculum that emphasizes basic techniques discipline and physical fitness.
- Create lesson plans that are engaging and developmentally appropriate for children in Nursery through PreK.
- Incorporate movement stretching and fun drills to improve motor skills and focus.
- Collaborate with the admin to manage student progress and behavioral expectations.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding student and programrelated matters.
- Utilize companywide digital platforms to perform administrative tasks (e.g. taking attendance submitting incident reports as needed etc..
- Maintain a safe and structured environment for all students.
- Foster a vibrant inclusive and fun learning atmosphere by consistently offering a positive and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
This is you:
- Experience teaching or training in karate preferably with young children.
- Punctuality and reliability are a must!
- Ability to clearly communicate rules and expectations to children is essential.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills are highly valued.
- A high level of professionalism and motivation is expected.
- A neat and professional appearance is appreciated.
- Ability to develop and implement ageappropriate karate curriculum.
- Strong understanding of fundamental karate techniques and philosophy.
The Schedule:
- Day: Wednesday (parttime availability)
- Time: 2:30 4 PM (broken into two sessions: 2:30 3:15 PM and 3:15 4 PM)
- Season begins: September 9th with candidates who can commit for the full 202425 school year.

RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:
- Enrolled in or completed a Bachelors program in Physical Education Martial Arts Child Development or a related field.
- Teaching or coaching experience preferably with elementarylevel students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate young learners.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in curriculum development.
- At least 1 year of teaching or coaching experience preferably with elementarylevel students.
- Strong background in karate training movement and discipline techniques.
