The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction is seeking applicants for Executive Assistant for our Deputy Superintendents Office.
The Deputy Superintendents Office provides senior leadership with the Department of Public Instruction and works in close coordination with the State Superintendent and senior leadership team. The Deputy Superintendents Office manages the key support functions of NCDPI and uses his or her knowledge of applicable laws and regulations industry trends and best practices to ensure that NCDPI operates efficiently and effectively and that staff and leadership can focus on NCDPIs core education mission and programs. The Deputy Superintendents Office is responsible for overseeing management of several functions of the department including the following areas:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct secretarial or clerical/administrative assistance and management to the Deputy Superintendents Office by effectively managing daytoday operations of the Office. The person in this position provides assistance to the Deputy Superintendent and Cabinet members to ensure that daytoday operations are completed in a timely manner accurately and in accordance with all policies and procedures. Responsible for interpreting developing and carrying out policies and procedures for various programs rather than one specific program. Administer major public contact functions including responsibility for acting as liaison between the department and other departments and the public in interpreting policies and procedures with independent authority.

Bachelors degree preferably in business administration or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution; or
Associates degree in secretarial science business administration or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
