We are seeking a talented Senior Staff Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Florence South Carolina. In this role you will be responsible for electrical system integration playing a crucial role in new product development and maintaining product integrity. Your expertise will be vital in evaluating change opportunities and integrating new component designs into existing systems while meeting cost and schedule commitments.
On a typical day you will:
Collaborate with global and regional multifunctional teams to support NPI and PLM engineering activities including needs analysis functional allocation costbenefit analysis architecture development and evaluation tradeoff analysis and risk assessment.
Lead and perform electrical qualification testing for electrical engineering projects and products.
Prepare or support systemlevel design failure mode and effects analyses before development starts; verify requirements and design with modeling simulation and testing.
Read and understand schematics wiring diagrams mechanical assembly drawings and building layouts to analyze complex problems identify root causes and develop innovative solutions.
Collaborate across disciplines with mechanical engineers software engineers manufacturing personnel and field personnel.
Conduct handson integration validation verification and troubleshooting of preproduction systems and workflows.
Support current strategic plans roadmaps engineering tasks and testing for electrical systems services and features within the Otis product framework.
Update PCB designs.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 7 years of experience or equivalent education and experience
Proficient in power distribution protection control systems and familiar with North American electrical codes and standards
Understanding of power components distribution protection and controls theory and applications
Experience with wiring diagrams system analysis motor and control applications
Worked with suppliers third parties and code agencies like UL CSA ASME NFPA TSSA NEC
Skilled in ECAD tools such as Cadence PSpice ViewLogic AutoCAD E3
Collaborated across disciplines with engineers and personnel in various fields
Experienced in PCB design and manufacturing processes
Familiar with test and measurement equipment
Able to develop product requirements under constraints and pressures ensuring quality
Handson lab experience with electrical architecture embedded software and test equipment
Solid electrical engineering background: elevator systems knowledge is a plus
Strong interpersonal analytical and logical reasoning skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
