A longterm placement consists of 20 or more consecutive days in the same assignment. Longterm substitute teachers will beplaced according to verified education and experience on the West Valley School Districts Certificated Salary Schedule.
SUMMARY
West Valley High School is seeking a highly qualified collaborative relationshipcentered applicant to teachFrench 1 & 2 and Intro to Art. Applicants who can establish a positive rapport with students from diverse backgrounds make learning relevant through innovative curriculum design and coach students toward their individual goals in small group contexts will have the most success in this position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior successful experience teachingin thecore subject area
- Experience in diverse classrooms
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Washington State teaching certificate no later than the first day of substitute teaching with appropriate endorsements as required by law and regulations.
- Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance.
- Valid Washington State drivers license or evidence of mobility.
- Proof of Immunization (if born 1/1/57 or later).
- I9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act.
- Completion of all districtrequired training within thirty 30 calendar days from hire date.

- Administer or monitor standardized tests in accordance with district and state testing programs.
- Participate in curriculum and other developmental programs within the school of assignment or on a district level.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Substitute positions are employed as oncall positions and paid for hours worked.
Verification of identity and United States work authorizationmust becompleted before employment commences. The successful candidate for thispositionmust complete a fingerprinted background check with the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Employment is contingent upon clearance of the background check.
