Hiring Unit: School of Continuing Studies Student Success & Enrollment Management
Parttime casual position
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor the incumbent may perform some or all of the listed general administration functions.
Hold byweekly checkin meetings with students who are attending classes from abroad to ensure everything is going smoothly for them.
Organize campus tours and other student engagement activities during the day (libraries where to dine etc.
Be available for any emergencies the students may have
Provide suggestions to the students on activities to do in town
Accompany students to activities pending supervisor approval.
Accompany students to their classrooms during the first week of the program and be present in their welcome session
Provide feedback to supervisor about the students experience
The list of functions outlined above is representative and not a complete and detailed list of tasks which may be performed by an incumbent. For example incumbents may be asked to perform some elements of Communications Assistant level A and/or B in addition to the above listed functions.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal skills knowledge of McGill University and downtown campus grounds knowledge of Montreal and activities to do in the city. Knowledge of French and English.McGill University is an Englishlanguage university where daytoday duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.
