Bus Drivers PART TIME ROLE

Job Summary: Provide safe transportation for district students to and from various destinations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operate vehicle responsibly at all times.
• Complete inspection of the school bus as prescribed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania including clearing obstructions and wiping lenses of lights. Reports all irregularities to the yard person.
• Maintain student discipline on the bus according to school bus rules. Reports infractions to the Building Principal and the Supervisor of Transportation.
• Maintain school bus routing schedule.
• Safely operate all equipment provided within aschool bus including all doors windows emergency equipment radios read and understand gauge indicators operate standard shift and automatic transmissions exc.
• Attend inservice workshops and other department meetings scheduled by the Supervisor of Transportation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Transportation.

Qualifications:

• You MUST have a valid Pennsylvania CDL Drivers License with Passenger (P) and Student (S) endorsement with air break restriction lifted. Willing to train a PA CDL Drivers License holder for (S) and (P) endorsement and air break restriction lifted.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Driving record must be free of tickets and accidents.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to reach above and below the waist
• Ability to use fingers to pick feel and grasp objects
• Ability to use both hands for repetitive motion
• Ability to bend twist kneel stoop climb and crawl
• Ability to lift/carry supplies weighing 50 lbs. or more
• Ability to drive up to eighty percent 80 of workday

SENSORY ABILITIES:

• Visual acuity
• Auditory acuity

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Ability to work in an external environment subject to temperatures below 32 degrees or above 100 degrees
• Subject to outside environmental conditions
• May be exposed to atmospheric conditions that include fumes and dust

TEMPERAMENT:

• Must be cooperative congenial and serviceoriented
• Must be able to work in an environment with frequent interruptions

COGNITIVE ABILITY:

• Ability to follow written and verbal directions
• Ability to read and write
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to organize tasks
• Ability to exercise good judgment
• Ability to read and understand maps

SPECIFIC SKILLS:

• Ability to work well with students

Salary will be set in accordance with Southeast Delco Federation of Support Staff Negotiated Agreement.
