The Role
Summer Work Experience Scheme

At Holmes and Hills we are committed to supporting future generations of legal professionals. Our work experience scheme is aimed at individuals who are interested in becoming future Trainee Solicitors.

We are offering a fantastic opportunity for 1st & 2nd year Law students to participate in a weeks work experience across our offices in Marks Tey Witham and Braintree.

1st year Law Students are invited to apply for work experience taking place on 11th until 15th August 2025

2nd year Law Students are invited to apply for work experience taking place on 18th until 22nd August 2025

This will give the participants a unique opportunity to experience life within the legal environment and gain valuable experience for the future.
Our programme is designed to give you a thorough overview of what it is like to work at a leading East Anglian Law Firm. You will have the chance to work within a range of our legal departments shadowing our current Trainees you will gain exposure to our Solicitors and Chartered Legal Executives as well as our Partners. You will have the opportunity to gain practical skills through the tasks that will be set for you throughout the experience. We have designed tasks to give you an overview of what you can expect to be doing as a Trainee Solicitor.
Holmes and Hills have a very friendly supportive culture and throughout your time with us all our colleagues at all levels will be available to answer questions and to help you fully integrate into the team.

Who we are looking for:

  • Currently studying for an LLB (Law Degree)
  • You will be in your 1st or 2nd year at university
  • Ability to commit to 1 weeks work experience on the above dates given.
  • Eager to gain practical experience in the law industry
  • Looking to secure a trainee contract upon successful degree completion
All placements for our work experience programme will be unpaid.
