Summary
Performs diagnostic computed tomography (CT) scan images. Produces quality computed tomography exam images and exercise professional judgment in the performance of procedures.Job Description
Provides for patient care and initiates life support measure as necessary. Interacts effectively with patients physicians family members department staff and healthcare workers.
Possesses the skills and knowledge to operate CT equipment to produce quality CT scans as well as the ability to perform related procedures and protocols. Has the ability to learn and utilize new technology as well as orient new employees. Possesses the ability to professionally obtain information from patients or their responsible parties to further improve their personalized treatment and care.
On a continuum the CT Technologist works to develop an understanding of the patients physical and emotional status. Works well with all age groups.
Sanford Rural Network Facilities sites may expand job responsibilities based on the needs of the facility to include but not limited to: oncall rotation nights weekends and holidays. Perform diagnostic radiology procedures. Perform basic diagnostic radiology tasks and aware of general radiology protocols. May perform mobile imaging electrocardiogram (EKG) cardiac monitor placement and dual energy xray absorptiometry (DEXA) procedures.
Qualifications
Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school or Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JCERT) accredited program is required.Sanford is an EEO/AA Employer M/F/Disability/Vet.
