Job Title

Environment Health and Safety Advisor

Job Description Summary

Reporting to the EHS Manager the EHS Advisor role is vital in supporting EHS management across the account portfolio. The purpose of this role is to support and continually improve a way of doing business that promotes operational excellence and prevents harm to our people and the environment. The EHS Advisor will assist in the implementation of EHSQ systems process and programs for the account portfolio to ensure that management frameworks are applied developed monitored and improved where required to meet industry best practice standards.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Account EHS

  • Support the delivery of a quality and consistent level of EHS service to the client.

  • Support and advise on EHS management for the account portfolio ensuring alignment with statutory company and contractual requirements.

  • Implement the EHS management systems tailored to the needs for the account portfolio.

  • Conduct risk assessments inspections and audits across the account portfolio to identify and mitigate critical risks minimize incidents and nonconformances.

  • Maintain EHS compliance registers for insurances licenses and competencies.

  • Maintain compliance registers for essential safety measures compliance across the account portfolio.

  • Maintain up to date client sites induction and access requirements.

  • Advise on compliance with local state and commonwealth legislation codes and standards.

  • Assist in the delivery of training programs to educate account staff suppliers and stakeholders on safety protocols and environmental awareness initiatives.

  • Provide EHS information for procurement of contractors on the account portfolio as tender development.

  • Conduct incident investigations develop incident reports and monitor the implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Assist with Business Continuity and Crisis Management Planning and its implementation including involving and training personnel and participants.

  • Assist in the preparation of regular EHS reports for the client regulatory and company management.

  • Proactively identify continual improvement opportunities in EHS processes to simplify and ensure effective implementation.

  • Promote mentor and coach a strong EHS culture across the account portfolio.

Relationship Management

  • Establish and maintain trusted relationships with client stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain sound working relationships with internal company stakeholders.

  • Establish and maintain open and professional relationships with suppliers and industry partners.

Deliverables

  • Proactively review workplace processes to innovate and continuously improve the company performance and workplace experience.

  • Articulate and live the Cushman & Wakefield culture model organisational values and required behaviour and hold others (employees and peers) accountable for their actions by identifying and acting on behaviour which is inconsistent with agreed standards.

  • Comply with all Cushman & Wakefield systems that are in place to meet the health and safety obligations of the organisation.

  • Understand the Cushman & Wakefield brand and expertise of services delivered to ensure all opportunities to provide a fullservice offer to clients.

Background and Experience

  • A passion and motivation for EHS in the workplace.

  • Proven experience preferably in the property construction or facilities management sectors.

  • Sound knowledge of legislation codes and standards.

  • Strong communication stakeholder and problemsolving skills.

  • Effective planning organizing and time management skills to prioritise and complete tasks on time.

  • Initiative to identify and ensure that appropriate actions are taken to achieve goals.

Qualifications & Technical Skills

  • Tertiary qualification in a related discipline preferable.

  • High proficiency with MS Office. Capability to learn and use new software programs.

  • ICAM incident investigation qualification preferrable.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Resident

  • Location: Canberra preferred but open to applicants across state of Australia Sydney Melbourne Brisbane Perth
