ROLE SUMMARY:

Kings College The British School of Alicante one of the most sought after British Schools in Spain is seeking to appoint an inspiring committed and passionate professional to teach Computer Science to IBDP and ALevel from August 2025.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an outstanding school as we continue to develop our Computer Science department in school. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To deliver high quality teaching and learning in line with the UK National Curriculum and local requirements.
  • To plan feedback and teach in line with school and departmental procedures.
  • To plan prepare and deliver schemes of work in accordance with school policies.
  • To maintain a working knowledge of National Curriculum & other documents.
  • To maintain records of pupils progress including all statutory documents required by the UK DFE.
  • To produce reports and grades for pupils as per the school calendar.
  • To conduct termly interviews with parents to discuss and explain their childs performance and progress in school.
  • To provide and maintain an attractive and stimulating environment in which to foster effective teaching and learning.
  • To monitor progress and the effectiveness of class work and to evaluate and modify planning and teaching as necessary.
  • To differentiate accordingly according to the students needs

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Be an inspiring creative and passionate teacher whose practice is rooted in Quality First Teaching and will share our belief in the importance of supporting and developing the whole child.
  • Believe in Inspireds approach to education where academic performance sporting opportunities and creative arts are given equal status throughout the childs school experience.
  • Have experience of successfully teaching Computer Science to IBDP Level and/or ALevel and will be able to demonstrate the value they have added to the outcomes of pupils under their care.
  • Be excited by the prospect of working for a school judged under the BSO framework to be outstanding in all areas and explain what they can bring to that environment.
  • Be committed to working collaboratively with pupils parents and peers to achieve the best pupil outcomes possible.
  • Be able to adapt teaching methods to support and drive the progress of pupils whose first language may not be English.
  • Be a dedicated team player with a cando attitude who contributes positively to the general working environment and possesses an eagerness to contribute to the wider life of the school including enrichment and extracurricular activities.
  • Be a reflective practitioner with a keen interest in their own personal and professional development and an enthusiasm for participating in CPD and peer learning opportunities.
  • Be fluent in English and demonstrate highly articulate spoken written & technical language.
  • Share our strong pastoral ethos and be able to demonstrate a commitment to pastoral care and the crucial role all staff play in developing the whole child.
  • Support Inspireds dedication to technology and be willing to embrace virtual reality artificial intelligence and associated technologies to enhance childrens learning experiences.
